Safer Plymouth
A safe & welcoming city centre
A safe and welcoming city centre is vital to our ambitious plans to attract more visitors, restore pride, enable your businesses to thrive and protect your employees.
Our Plymouth Against Retail Crime (PARC) officers provide a reassuring and welcoming presence for visitors seven days a week and are a major factor in deterring and reducing crime.
The regeneration of the city centre, with improved design, new street lighting and more investment in CCTV will make a big difference.
But in this new plan, we will do even more to look after your interests.
We will be the lynchpin between your businesses and the police and other agencies, providing you with direct access to officers and support via our regular Safer Plymouth meetings.
Through PARC, our BID levy payers benefit from:
7-day a week PARC patrols
Discounted Shop Watch or Pub Watch radios
Access to our industry-leading DISC app with real-time crime information and reporting tools
Lobbying of police and other agencies for more funding and patrols
Support and advice
With a growing evening and night-time economy, we will also:
Work with partners to support the taxi marshall and safe bus projects
Support Purple Flag accreditation, showcasing the safety of our night-time economy
Support and promote Pub Watch to our venues
Support Best Bar None which sets out to deliver best practice in licensed venues
