Amazing £5 deals will show off Plymouth’s West End like never before

Shoppers are being offered exclusive £5 deals at some ofPlymouth’s most popular businesses as part of the innovative Fiver Fest in theWest End of Plymouth City Centre.

West End businesses, including traders in Plymouth Market,will be joining independent businesses across the UK in the unique £5 promotionthroughout February half term.

Called the Totally Local Fiver Fest, the event includesretailers making one-time offers of £5 on a huge variety of products from 15 to29 February.

It is being supported and promoted by the Plymouth CityCentre Company and details of the offers and other news and informationrelating to the event will be hosted on the new West End Plymouth website www.westendplymouth.co.ukand social media channels.

The City Centre Company, which runs the city centre BusinessImprovement District (BID) recently created a new brand and identity for theWest End with the aim of raising the area’s profile and to attract moreshoppers to the huge variety of independent businesses in and outside themarket.

Steve Hughes, the company’s Chief Executive, said: “We aredoing all we can to get more people to discover the range of businesses we havein the West End and Fiver Fest will help us to do that.

“We just want as many people as possible to come and supporttheir local traders.

I’d really encourage anyone thinking of trying the West Endor the Market for the first time – or revisiting for the first time in a while– to browse our fabulous businesses in half term.

“I think you’ll be amazed at the quality and range on offer– not to mention the incredible £5 offers on display!”

More than 70 towns and cities across the UK will be takingpart in Fiver Fest, as part of a drive to bring shoppers back to their localhigh streets.

The idea is the brainchild of Totally Local, an organisationset up to promote the Great British high street.

Mr Hughes added: “I’d like to thank Totally Local for theirsupport – their research shows that if every adult in Plymouth spent just £5 aweek with their local independent stores instead of online or chain stores itwould be worth £51 million going directly into our local economy.”
