WELCOME BACK

We are looking forward to welcoming back shoppers, visitors and workers to the city centre from Monday June 15. Safety of our customers and workers  is our number one priority, so we have been busy providing help and advice and installing new signs to remind visitors to socially distance.

It is important to note that not all shops will be opening on Monday as many are continuing to carry out cleaning and safety measures. Opening and  closing times are also expected to vary.

If you would like to let us know your plans, so we can add you to our list of stores that are open please email steve.hughes@citycentrebid.co.uk

Here’s what we know so far:

Drake Circus is expecting more shops to open from June 15 and to help keep social distancing, will be limiting the number of visitors to the centre. Shoppers may need to wait in a queue outside. Some stores will be trialling a ‘traffic light’ system which uses red and green signals to indicate if visitors are able to enter or not, depending on capacity. Enhanced hygiene and cleaning regimes are in place, with hand sanitising stations at all entrances and exits, as well as on key touchpoints. Toilets will also be open. For more details and to find out which stores are opening in the mall visit: www.drakecircus.com/news/planning-your-visit

Plymouth Market will be open from 9am to 4.30pm and is expecting around half of its traders back - but with no cafés or nail bars. There will be a limit on the number of customers allowed in at any one time, although this will be kept under review. Toilets will be open and hand sanitiser will be available at the Market Avenue and market car park entrance and exit points. For more information go to: www.plymouthmarket.co.uk

We expect most of our independent traders in the West End to begin opening from June 15. More cafes and restaurants will be open for takeaway service only.

The main Armada Way toilets remain closed but the single cubicle toilets near the Sundial are open and will be subject to an enhanced cleansing regime.

The street cleansing team will be paying particular attention to bins and seats and the wooden play area figures have been removed.

Sports Direct, Flannels and Brand Max will all open on Monday June 15. City Furnishers has already reopened in Colin Campbell Court.
