SUPPORT THE SHOPKEEPERS’ CAMPAIGN FOR ACTION ON BUSINESS RATES

We are joining other business organisations to call on the government to urgently announce more long-term support to help our high streets recover from the pandemic.

Plymouth is in a strong position for recovery but we need quick and urgent action on business rates and VAT on hospitality, so businesses can plan for the future.

Which is why, we are asking you to support the following campaigns.

Revo, a retail membership group, is urging businesses and individuals to lobby their MPs and support their Shopkeepers’ Campaign which calls for a reduction in business rates to save shops and jobs.

Various industry organisations are also calling for the VAT reduction to 5 per cent for hospitality to be extended.

Our chairman, Nigel Godefroy, has already written to Chancellor Rishi Sunak calling for an extension of the business rates holiday. Read it here
