Update on business grants
New discretionary funding available to support Plymouth businesses
Plymouth City Council has a further £800,000 of Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) funding to distribute in grants to local businesses, helping them to recover from the impact of Covid-19.
As there is only a small amount of funding available, Plymouth City Council will be prioritising certain businesses for support.
Applications for the new ARG funding will open at 10am on Tuesday 27 April. The application process will close on Tuesday 4 May at 10am, or once all of the funding has been allocated, so businesses are urged to apply as soon as they can.
An update on Restart grants
Since opening applications for the Restart Grant on Monday 12 April Plymouth City Council have received over 1,000 applications. 472 of these applications have been approved.
They’ve paid out £1.2million so far to businesses, and have a further payment of £1.5million being made this week. Their aim is to process payments within 2 weeks of application.
The Restart grants are available for rate-paying businesses who were trading on 1 April 2021 in the non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care or gym sectors. Applications will close on 30 June 2021.
