City Centre Company Statement on Plymouth protests

The City Centre Company would like to thank Devon and Cornwall Police, Plymouth City Council and other agencies for all their work last night to keep our city centre safe and our businesses protected.

Eight arrests were made and several people injured, including police officers, and some properties were damaged.  

CCTV footage is being examined and further arrests are expected.

A big clean-up operation was carried out overnight and early this morning to get the city centre ready for business for which we are extremely grateful.  

There is no intelligence to suggest any further problems are likely today.

Additional police patrols will continue in the city centre for the next few days.

Any businesses that have had property damaged should report this to the police as soon as possible.
