Continental Market coming to Plymouth City Centre
Look out for the return of a continental market to Plymouth City Centre on April 4, 5 and 6.
This is the latest activity to be hosted by the Plymouth City Centre Company in the newly improved public space at Old Town Square by the Old Town Street entrance to Drake Circus.
Ten stalls will be selling arts and crafts and food from around the world, including freshly baked Albanian macaroons, olives, baklava, Chinese street food and New York cheesecake.
The market will be open from 10am until 6pm on all three days.
On the Saturday (April 5) there will be live music from the Manuka Groove Trio.
Get ready to embark on a musical journey with this dynamic and electrifying three-piece covers band that is set to bring the house down with their infectious energy and diverse repertoire. From the smooth moves of Michael Jackson to the reggae rhythms of Bob Marley and the timeless classics of the '90s, Manuka Groove Trio is your passport to afternoon of singalong fun and irresistible dance beats.
Steve Hughes, chief executive of the Plymouth City Centre Company, said:“ With the weather improving, we want to give people more reasons to visit the city centre and experience the lively atmosphere in our new public square.This is a small trial event to see what people and our businesses think. We hope it will attract new visitors and customers who will see the improvements to the area and the new businesses that have opened and return again and again.”
Old Town Square is a fully pedestrianised space that can be used for a wide variety of street entertainment.
