NEW SOFT PLAY CENTRE TO OPEN IN DRAKE CIRCUS

A new children’s soft play area is coming to Drake Circus which is sure to be a popular new attraction.

Wild Things Play Project is hoping to open its newest play site, designed to provide children and families with an innovative and inclusive indoor play experience, before Christmas.

Its operators say it will be a vibrant hub for creativity, adventure and community engagement with more than 5,000 square feet of play space for children aged 0-7.

Born in Bristol, Wild Things is described as soft play reimagined, using all-natural materials.

Steve Hughes, chief executive of the Plymouth City Centre Company, said: “This will be a brilliant addition to the Drake Circus and city centre offer and fits in perfectly with our plans for a more diverse city centre with more to see and do.

“We expect this to be a big driver for footfall so a benefit for other city centre businesses as well. We look forward to working with Wild Things on our growing events programme.”

The new play area will include a wide range of play structures from climbing frames and interactive features to sand play and sensory spaces.

A café will also be included with an extensive menu for adults and children.

One of the standout features of the new Plymouth site is its emphasis on community.  The new workshop space is separate from the main play area and will be used for craft sessions, kindergarten groups, afterschool clubs and childrens’ parties. It’s also available for private hire for local community groups.

“We are incredibly excited to open our new play site in Plymouth,” said Oliver Stroud, founder of Wild Things Play Project. “Our mission is to create spaces where every child feels welcome, safe and inspired to play. We believe that this new site will become a cherished destination for families in the community.”
