New rules for tables and chairs permits

New rules and guidance have been published by Plymouth City Council for businesses wishing to have outdoor tables and chairs.

The City Centre Company has worked with the council in drawing up the guidelines and policy designed to encourage a café culture and increase vibrancy across the city centre.

We expect more opportunities to arise for food and drink businesses to increase trade form outdoor dining and drinking as our new-look city centre continues to take shape.

All businesses trading outside must apply for a permit and play their part in improving the look and feel of the city centre with good quality fixtures and fittings, waste management plans, and regular cleaning and maintenance of outdoor areas.
